Backend & Automation Developer

Python • FastAPI • Automation

I build reliable backend systemsand automation that gets out of your way.

I'm Patrick, a backend-focused engineer with real-world experience in scheduling systems, PDF generation, and cloud-based automation. I love turning messy workflows into clean, well-documented APIs and tools.

Snapshot

  • Backend & APIs: Python, FastAPI, REST, auth, scheduling logic.
  • Automation: PDF pipelines, batch jobs, scripts, cron-style workflows.
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, Mongo-style NoSQL, FireSQL/Firestore experience.
  • Cloud: Vercel, Firebase, serverless concepts, CI-friendly workflows.

Selected projects

These are the projects I'd highlight in a Python backend role.

RMConnect Backend Service

Python • FastAPI • PostgreSQL • SQLAlchemy

A backend service that powers scheduling, timesheets, and PDF haul-sheet generation. Includes JWT authentication, REST APIs, and background jobs for processing and notifications.

RMX Automation Suite

Python • Automation • PDF • Reporting

A set of Python automation tools that parse PDFs, aggregate data, and generate scheduled reports. Designed to be deployed as cron-style jobs with clear logging and configuration.

About me

I've spent years building real-world systems in the logistics and ready-mix space, working closely with drivers, dispatch, and operations. That background shapes how I design APIs and automation: everything is pragmatic, well-documented, and focused on making people's jobs easier.

My strengths are in backend development, data modeling, and turning complicated workflows into clean Python services and scripts. I enjoy collaborating with teams, iterating quickly, and owning systems from idea to production.
